Village Talk: Dickens and The Rise of the Novel with Bill Franz (4:00 PM)

Charles Dickens is recognized by many as the most important figure in the history of English fiction. Bill Franz will lead us through Dickens’ work from 1833 to 1870 and an exploration of publishers, booksellers, and civic events that influenced his writing. We will also look at Dickens’ personal life, which is as extraordinary as many of his stories.



About Bill
Bill Franz is a retired Training and Development and Human Resources Manager. Retirement has allowed him to revisit his early interests in English Literature, a field in which he possesses and B.A. and M.A. Bill lives in Newburyport with his wife Donna, where they both volunteer for the Greater Newburyport Village.
