Charles Dickens is recognized by many as the most important figure in the history of English fiction. Bill Franz will lead us through Dickens’ work from 1833 to 1870 and an exploration of publishers, booksellers, and civic events that influenced his writing. We will also look at Dickens’ personal life, which is as extraordinary as many of his stories.
