VILLAGE TALK: Newburyport - A Measure of Change

For our April Village Talk, we invite you to click on the link above to watch this 29-minute award-winning 1975 documentary by Lawrence Rosenblum.

A Measure of Change chronicles the pivotal span of time when the city transformed itself from a worn-out mill town to a vibrant destination city by using historic preservation.  Newburyport was the first in the nation to use restoration rather than demolition for urban renewal, a model since used by municipalities across the United States.

This is for those who lived in Newburyport through these changes, for those who are new to the city, and perhaps for those of you who just like to remember when you looked great in bellbottoms!
